Lleyton Hewitt desperate to comeback in Wimbledon Championship

Lleyton Hewitt again suffered another injury setback citing an ailment in his left foot already withdrawn from the French Open. The 30-year-old Former world No.1, two-time grand slam champion Australian is in doubt of his chances of competing at Wimbledon tennis Championship next month.Lleyton-Hewitt

Hewitt has won US Open in 2001 before winning Wimbledon in the following year to become the youngest men's No.1. Hewitt, lost in the opening round of Australian Open in January and in the US Open last September, it is  the only time the champion had failed to win a single match at consecutive slams.

Hewitt vowed to fight on in a desperate final, attempt to claim a second Wimbledon crown in June.

Wimbledon Way project for Olympics 2012 tennis launched

A project for the route from Wimbledon station to All England Club into a walking tourist attraction and lasting Olympic legacy. Diana Sterck, chief executive of Merton Chamber of Commerce, launched the Wimbledon Way proposal at the All England Club. She said visitors would be guided along a marked route from station to Wimbledon High Street and in to Church Lane, along the way providing history, news and other information.

With an estimated 500,000 visitors to London, and south London should benefit in relation to its accommodation, attractions and history and heritage. Victory Walk, One of the zones would celebrate tennis events and personalities. Merton Chamber of Commerce is also in the process of submitting a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for extra cash. Wimbledon Society and Wimbledon Film have also agreed to provide content.

Dan Cox agonising Wimbledon Debut appearance

DAN COX agonising to secure his debut appearance in Wimbledon Championship in the Men's Singles . The 20-year-old has played in from the Futures tour to the more competitive Challenger events. Decision on whether or not Dan Cox achieves his dream in 2011 lies with the All England Tennis Club. According to tournament rules players should be in the top 250 in the world before they can be recommended by LTA for inclusion, but still All England Tennis Club can offer wildcards to.dan cox

"The fact that I am only 20 will go in my favour, but if I am not given a wildcard into the main Wimbledon draw, I will have to go through the qualifying matches and try and get in that way, Dan Cox said. he added "If I don't get there this year, then I will have to double my efforts to get there next year."

Cox won the first round in Italy beating Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany by 6-2, 6-2. But in the second round, he lost to current world number 184 Matthew Ebden of Australia by 6-2, 7-5.He will be in action again at Nottingham from May 29 2011.

Novak Djokovic dreams of winning Wimbledon title

For number two seed Novak Djokovic winning Wimbeldon Championship Title is still the primary goal inspite of his 32 matches winning streak  since start of the year. Novak Djokovic also defeated Rafael Nadal on clay court during his journey so far.

Djokovic won Australian Open in January and followed by three Masters titles in a row, and as said defeated world number one Rafa Nadal on clay court in Masters Open for the first time. Djokovic is filling the gap in world number one and second slot but eying the Wimbeldon Title this year.

He said, "My ambition is to be number one and my dream is to win Wimbledon title. These are the two things I've wanted the most”."In some ways the Davis Cup final against France has given me a lot of confidence," he said.He added, "It was the start of the great run I'm on and it was a huge match for us, a historical match. "It gave me a lot of energy, it was the best three days in my life as a tennis player, especially the Sunday when we won the Davis Cup.
